Awareness campaign Pink October
As a gesture of solidarity and commitment, the NECIR Diagnostic Center has launched an awareness campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month (Pink October) by offering discounts on exams, including mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs, along with a free general medical consultation. This initiative seeks to raise awareness, highlight the risks of breast cancer, and emphasize the importance of early screening.
The ‘‘Pink October’’ campaign was first launched in the United States in 1985, then held in France in 1994. The pink ribbon, inspired by the iconic red ribbon symbolizing the fight against AIDS, was created by Alexandra Penney and Evelyn H. The color pink, naturally associated with femininity, is both vibrant and symbolic.
It is important to know that thanks to early detection, breast cancer is cured in 9 out of 10 cases. Therefore, it is recommended from the age of 25 to undergo a clinical examination of the breasts by palpation and to carry out screening every two years from the age of 50.
Through this campaign and other actions, the NECIR Diagnostic Center intends to be present and do its share in promoting the public health sector.
